Following a career in international finance that culminated as Chief Operating Officer at UBS Investment Bank in Switzerland, I have spent the last 7 years dedicated to entrepreneurial solutions for sanitation in the Global South.

My wife and I created the Toilets for All foundation, which implements toilet solutions in schools in the Global South with local SME’s. Since 2020, we have completed 36 schools in 6 countries, benefiting over 14,000 students. Six of these schools now have a new circular approach, producing biogas for the school kitchen and fertilizer for agriculture, thanks to our collaboration with the Swiss Engineering School ETH Zurich. Toilets for All is actively sharing its knowledge through special dedicated websites around school sanitation approaches and the synergies between sanitation and all SDG goals based on research by the University College in London.

I have also joined the board of two organizations active in the sanitation space to tackle the systemic issues: VaLoo and cewas. VaLoo is a Swiss association promoting resource-oriented sanitation in Europe to make use of valuable nutrients with the goal to make this know-how available globally. Cewas, the leading global support organization for WASH-entrepreneurs in Africa and Latin America, has worked with over 400 WASH-SME's since 2012, providing acceleration support, sustainable business models and catalytic grants.
